Luis Antonio was born on July 7, 1966 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He started designing since his early years in High School. After a couple of years in the New York Fashion Institute of Technology, Luis Antonio returns to Puerto Rico were he began working on his first ready-to-wear collection. Luis Antonio’s fashion label quickly became a household name among society women.
His collections are modern and cosmopolitan, yet romantic and feminine. Ruffles, bows, vibrant colors and soft silhouettes, have characterized Luis Antonio’s creative talent and architectural vision over the past two decades. In recent years the Luis Antonio label diversified into a shoe line design for the franchise, NOVUS, INC.
Luis Antonio’s designs have been worn by a diverse group of distinguished women and celebrities such as; Gisselle Blondet, Barbara Bermudo, Adamaris Lopez, Dayanara Torres, Luis Fonsi, Jackie Guerrido, Melina Leon, Mirka Dellanos, Ivy Queen, Astrid Muñoz and Kani Garcia. As well as International renowned stars like; Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Don Omar, Amaury Nolasco (Prison Break), Jennifer Morrison (House), Roselyn Sanchez (Devious Maids), and more recently Sydney Sierota lead singer of the American rock band Echosmith. Luis Antonio also designed the complete wardrobe use by Argentinean actress Mia Maestro on the Canadian movie Meant to Be.
Last September Luis Antonio made his debut at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week with his Spring-Summer 2015 Maritime Collection. The unparalleled level of brand exposure this international event offer has made Luis Antonio label recognize today in Paris, Indonesia, Dubai, and Japan among others. During March 2015, will be the first Puerto Rican designer to debute his line at the renown store Saks Fith Avenue at their brand new store in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
After 20 years, Luis Antonio continues to blend elegance, luxury and ease. His pieces are eclectic, subtle yet with a touch of chic, gothic and retro. Luis Antonio has defined the standards of elegance and the best is yet to be seen.
